devotchka - ALL THE SAND IN ALL THE SEA
Well here’s a downright impressive track from the new DeVotchKa album, “100 Lovers”. It’s got the familiar DeVotchKa vibe, but then there’s that Arcade Fire sounding siren of a guitar that swells and fades in the back and then the layers just keep piling on. It’s one of the busier songs that i’ve ever heard of theirs, but it’s excellent all the same. It’s got a driving beat and an emotional build and then those strings and well, yeah - it’s a DeVotchKa song. A very good one.
