the raveonettes - I WANNA BE ADORED
Full disclosure: i’ve never been crazy about The Stone Roses, but i always liked their track “I Wanna Be Adored”. It was the right amount of talent to go with their unwavering arrogance. That said, it is my personal feeling (and that’s what matters isn’t it?) that The Raveonettes have eradicated all traces of that previous version by turning it into a slow burning, shoegazey affair that feels like the wrong end of a night of excess. And I mean that in the best possible way.
